Rita Is No Lady

Hurricane Rita has yet to make landfall, but already she has made herself felt - by reflooding the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, and, more tragically, in the deaths of up to 24 elderly evacuees in a bus explosion near Dallas. As of this writing, Rita has been downgraded to a Cat 3 hurricane. But that is no cause for celebration.

"We're going to get through this," Texas Gov. Rick Perry said. "Say a prayer for Texas."

If you are so inclined, take some time out to pray for our fellow citizens in the path of the storm. I'll also echo the sentiments of my partner Mr. Right for the safety of Will Franklin and DJ Drummond.

UPDATE: My friend Jeanette from numerous PoliPundit threads was nice enough to link to this posting here. Jeanette's son and his family, as well as her co-blogger Newton all live in Texas. Keep them in your thoughts as storm passes.
